MOIROUD Claire

Dr Claire Moiroud is a senior clinician at Cirale and head of the rehabilitation unit of Cirale, Kinesia.

After graduating from EnvA in 2008, Dr. Moiroud completed a general equine internship and gained experience in mixed private practice before returning to Cirale to follow the residency training tracks for the DESV in biomechanics and locomotor pathology of the horse (BPLC), and then for the American College of Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation (ACVSMR). She became diplomate from DESV BPLC in 2016 and from ACVSMR in 2020, and also obtain the ISELP certification in 2019.

Now a senior clinician at Cirale, she specializes in diagnosing locomotor disorders, with particular expertise in advanced imaging techniques such as MRI and CT, and in providing and supervising rehabilitation and conditioning programs for sport and racehorses.

Since 2015, she has led the development of Kinesia, the rehabilitation unit of Cirale, equipped with a swimming pool and a water treadmill designed for research and analysis of equine locomotion in aquatic environments. Her research focuses on the effects of swimming and water treadmill exercise on the locomotor apparatus, with the goal of enhancing training, injury prevention and recovery, and equine welfare.

Dr. Moiroud is an active member of the AVEF Locomotor and Sports Medicine Committees and the international Equine Hydrotherapy Advisory Panel.

A former competitive show jumping rider, she remains closely connected to equestrian sport and regularly serves as an FEI Endurance Official Veterinarian. She has also contributed to major events, including the 2014 World Equestrian Games (imaging team) and the 2024 Paris Olympic and Paralympic Games (physiotherapy team).
