The registration fee is 100€* for anatomic pathology residents from other countries upon presentation of a certificate.

 

*residency or scholarship certificate is required from residents.

 

Registration fees are not required for French DESV-AP students.

 

The registration fee includes training fees, lunches on site, coffee breaks, seminar materials and the Thursday evening cocktail. Travel expenses, accommodation, and other meals not specified in the program are NOT included in these costs.

Description

Day 1 - Late afternoon (18:30 - 20:00)

  • Lecture 1 : Orthopedic Pathology: The Radiologist's Perspective 

 

Day 2 - Morning (9:00 - 12:00)

  • Lecture 2  : Bone and cartilage tumors - Dr. Brian G Murphy

Day 2 - Afternoon (14:00 - 18:00)

  • Lecture 3 : Fractures - Osteomyelitis - Dr. Brian G Murphy
  • Lecture 4 : Metabolic disorders of the bone - Osteoarticular pathology of the growing young animal - Dr. Brian G Murphy

Day 3 - Morning (9:00 - 12:00)

  • Lecture 5 : Joint trauma / Osteochondrosis / Osteoarthritis / Arthritis - Dr. Brian G Murphy

Objectifs de la formation

At the end of the training, veterinary pathologist will be able:

 

  • To know different orthopedic conditions
  • To correctly diagnose osteoarticular conditions
  • To know the gross and microscopic findings along with the findings of in vivo radiological analyses, to diagnose bone diseases, as well as the news and updates in the anatomic bone pathology of dogs and cats.
  • To know how to interpret the results of the X-rays and to correlate them with the results of histopathology.
  • To write the report of the veterinary orthopedic pathology examination.
  • To improve their knowledge of bone and cartilage tumors.

Veterinary students of the DESV in anatomic pathology.

Veterinary Residents in Anatomic Pathology Training.

Prérequis

Practicing in an anatomic pathology structure.

Modalités pédagogiques

Alternation of various teaching methods, adapted to the different skills to be acquired. Lectures will provide attendants/trainees with the necessary theoretical knowledge, while practical workshops will familiarize them with analytical and diagnostic techniques. Case discussions will also be offered, in order to encourage attendants/trainees to develop their analytical and synthesis skills.

 

Moyens et supports pédagogiques

Teaching materials: PowerPoint and scanned histological sections.

Modalités d'évaluation et de suivi

A formative evaluation will be carried out throughout the program to allow speakers/trainers to provide regular feedback to participants and help them progress in their learning. It will take the form of practical exercises, group discussions and MCQs.
