Tachyarrhythmias Mixte : présentiel / à distance
Dernière mise à jour : 20/10/2025
Master arrhythmogenesis to enhance the diagnosis and treatment of supra- and ventricular tachycardias. Join expert sessions, clinical case discussions, and live ECG & 3D mapping demos. Aim: smarter therapeutic choices, sharper prognosis, and patient care
Description
Understanding the arrhythmogenesis mechanisms of ventricular and supraventricular tachyarrhythmias provides a better approach to managing these rhythm disorders. These latter often cause clinical manifestations and sometimes sudden death. The goal of this session is to provide participants with pathophysiological notions and description of factors that promote arrhythmias to justify the choice of treatment protocol and enable a more rational prediction of outcome. This theoretical module, based on the diagnosis of tachyarrhythmias, is combined with a practical demonstration of the use and setting of ECG tools.
Objectifs de la formation
- This training to provide participants with assistance in diagnosis and autonomy in the management of tachyarrhythmias.
- More specifically: recognize the features of different supraventricular tachyarrhythmias, through theoretical algorithms recently validated by rigorous statistical analyses and comparison with gold standard methods; identify the risk of sudden death and/or heart failure.
- Classify atrial fibrillation according to updated criteria in veterinary medicine and explore the differences between dogs and cats in order to provide individualized and more species-appropriate care.
- Describe the morphological criteria and the degree of severity of ventricular tachycardia in order to establish in particular the possible link with myocardial disease and prevent or reduce the risk of sudden death as well as progression and complication of heart disease. This, being applied to clinical practice, translates directly into an improvement in the animal's quality of life.
Public visé
Veterinarians, general practitioners (or specialists in cardiology, internal medicine, anaesthesia, intensive care), French or foreign, fluent in English, wishing to specialize in cardiology. This module is open to other profiles, in particular researchers or clinicians interested in the discipline or wishing to devote themselves to it. The module is accessible remotely only to external auditors (excluding diploma participants)
Prérequis
- Good knowledge of the English language; knowledge of cardiology, generalist level or higher.
Modalités pédagogiques
The lectures will take place in an amphitheatre, equipped for face-to-face and distance learning. In the afternoon of the first day there will be practical work (training on ECG and Holter tracings).
Moyens et supports pédagogiques
- Material resources will include equipment (computers, projection screens, ECG and Holter devices and software) and clinical data from the cardiology department (clinical cases, tracings, etc.). The purchase of materials for notes and practical work (paper, rulers, compasses, notepads, pens, etc.) is to be expected. It is also advisable to have a personal computer on the day of the exam (second day).
Modalités d'évaluation et de suivi
- Participants will be assessed in the afternoon, after the second day's classes, by multiple-choice and free response questions.
